Splendidcrm

SplendidCRM is a CRM offered under the Sugar Public License (SPL) and built using .NET technology. Related to the core CRM project is a plugin for Outlook 2003/2007 which works with both the SugarCRM Open Source project, and with SplendidCRM.

The principal merits of the SplendidCRM project are that its .NET 2.0 technology base provides superior execution speed, and also speed of development. A potential drawback is that the many free third party additions available for the PHP-based SugarCRM will not work with SplendidCRM due to the different technology base.

Although SplendidCRM claims to be open source, you may not modify the code or disassemble the software. The license states:

YOU AGREE NOT TO:
• Modify the SplendidCRM Software; or
• Disassemble, decrypt, decompile or otherwise reverse engineer the SplendidCRM Software in order to discover the source
code or related proprietary information and trade secrets, or have a third party do so.

The Sugar Public License (SPL) is not an open source license and has been rejected by the Open Source Initiative . With the release of Sugar Community Edition 5.0, SugarCRM have adopted the GNU General Public License Version 3 [http://en. .org/wiki/GNU_General_Public_License#Version_3] which means their open source offering is now fully compliant with the OSI.
