ProjectPier

ProjectPier is a free software (open-source), web-based collaboration and project management tool. It is based on a fork of the activeCollab project after it was made commercial and proprietary. It is written in PHP and uses the MySQL database. Project Pier focuses on the key to effective Project Management being communication - not the traditional model which focuses on Gantt charts and time estimates.
History
ProjectPier was launched through the collaboration of Jon DeGenova, Roland Woldt, and Ryan Cross in early 2007. Several other developers and contributors have been involved since then. The project was initiated after the activeCollab project announced that it would be moving to a commercial model and use a proprietary license, to which many users expressed their disapproval. To support these users and to provide a continuation of an open source project management software, ProjectPier was started.
Versions before 0.8.0.1 have multiple HTML-injection and cross-site scripting vulnerabilities.
