SpinWatch

Spinwatch is an organisation dedicated to "monitoring PR and spin", which it defines explicitly as referring not only to political but also corporate lobbying activities.
Spinwatch is actively involved in campaigns to increase transparency by introducing regulation of lobbying and enhanced ethics rules for elected representatives.
Contributors
Spinwatch's advisory board includes green campaigners George Monbiot and Caroline Lucas as well as socialist Hilary Wainwright and journalist John Pilger but it is mostly written by Strathclyde University Sociology lecturer David Miller and former Ecologist writer Claire Robinson, as is its subsidiary Spin Profiles
Funding
Spinwatch has been funded by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Zac Goldsmith's JMG Foundation and the Isvara Foundation, amongst others.
Criticisms
Spinwatch has been accused of spinning for the Conservative Party millionaire Zac Goldsmith and the subsidiary Nuclearwatch was accused of pushing Goldsmith's party political goals. Will Deighton asked why it was that a site dedicated to exposing spin and hidden funding made no reference to Zac Goldsmith's extensive funding of green groups, though that might have been a party political attack on the Conservative Party election candidate.
