South Eastern Christian Centre is a Pentecostal church located in Endeavour Hills, Victoria, in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne which is made up of some 600 adherents, including a children's program with approximately 140 members of primary school age. It commenced in Narre Warren in 1979 under the leadership of Mike and Lois Cronin before moving to the Doveton High School where weekend attendances totalled 360 by the end of 1981. The church then grew by 214% until its 1986 peak of 770 (weekly attendance), whereas Australian census statistics show comparative growth of 38% in all Australian Pentecostal churches for the same period. The church moved to its present site in 1987 and is now under the leadership of Rob and Anna Nyhuis (since March 2009).
A focus on "creating dynamic disciples of Christ" now takes place by means of significant emphasis on participation in small "growth" groups. The church runs programs for various age groups and training courses for various needs including a government accredited Bible College course. The ethnic diversity of the region in which it is located has led to the establishment of weekly Cambodian and monthly Afrikaans and Sri Lankan services. The church also runs a monthly community market, a monthly community kitchen and a weekly foodbank program and numerous other community initiatives. South Eastern Christian Centre has spawned several new churches in Melbourne since 1986 and also supports the development of leadership training and welfare support throughout the Philippines. It is currently seeking to establish community programs in Cambodia. South Eastern Christian Centre is a member church of the CRC Churches International movement commenced under the leadership of Leo Harris in 1945. The founding senior minister has served as national and state chairman of the CRC which has some 800 churches internationally, with 127 in Australia, and seeks to have a presence in every nation by its hundredth anniversary in 2045.
