Soroosh Abdi

Soroosh Abdi (born July 14, 1989) is an American lawyer and sports agent who has represented professional athletes in the sport of soccer.
Early life and education
Abdi was born in Los Angeles, California. At a young age, he moved to Seattle, Washington where he attended Henry M. Jackson High School. Abdi then studied at the University of Washington, where he received a degree in Law, Societies and Justice. Upon graduating, he chose to attend the Seattle University School of Law, where he earned his law degree in 2014.
Legal career
Abdi started his legal career shortly after he was admitted to practice law by the Washington State Bar in 2014. He took a position as a contract public defender where he represented indigent criminal defendants facing misdemeanor charges in Okanogan County District Court. Abdi earned a reputation as a fiery advocate and in his first year, amassed an undefeated record in all five of his jury trials. In 2016, Abdi negotiated the transfer and signing of Obafemi Martins to Shanghai Greenland Shenua of the Chinese Super League. It was reported that Martins was guaranteed to make 6.6 million dollars for the 2016 season.
Abdi again negotiated a significant deal for Obafemi Martins, extending his contract with Shanghai Greenland Shenhua until the end of 2017. It was reported that this deal was worth $9 million for the 2017 season.
In 2016, Abdi also represented the number two draft pick, Joshua Yaro. Abdi secured for Yaro what was one of the highest valued Generation Adidas contracts in MLS history.
