Sophie Faroh is a Scandinavian fashion company headquartered in Aalesund, Norway. It is the parent company of Norwegian womenswear brands like Sophie Faroh and Maisy Bloom. Designing for the upper end of the womenswear market, Sophie Faroh produces knitwear and silk collections, while Maisy Bloom targets the contemporary market. The Sophie Faroh collection is primarily sold through high-end independent retailers. History Originally founded in 1997 by Ole Christian Sandberg, creator of bottled water company Voss of Norway, Sophie Faroh is headed and majority owned by Managing & Creative Director Lanya-Michèle Salvail. Co-founder of the designer fashion outlet concept MyBrandBoutique, Lanya-Michèle Salvail has been the creative force behind the company since 2009. Corporate Structure Sophie Faroh is under the management of Chairman Olav I. Roeyset, President & CEO of leading furniture company Hjellegjerde ASA, former President of Voss of Norway and Wenaas ASA; and Samuel Muren, former banker at DnB NOR and current CFO of nutritional technology company Hofseth AS. Vegard Saevik of the Havila and Hayvard Group is also an investor. The company was restructured in 2009 through the acquisition of brands and assets from Sophie Trading AS. Brand Sophie Faroh has sourced and sold limited Fall/Winter 2009, Spring/Summer 2010, and Fall/Winter 2010 collections, and expanded its distribution in anticipation of the company’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection.
