SmartBidNet

SmartBidNet is a web-based construction bidding software for commercial builders. The software is a product of JB Knowledge Technologies, Inc., an information technology company headquartered in College Station, TX. The software was developed in 2006 as a solution for general contractors looking for a private invitation to bid (ITB) and project document distribution product. It is a cloud-based software accessible to clients and their subcontractors via web browser. The software platform manages general contractors (GCs):
* Subcontractor and supplier data
* Subcontractor prequalification
* Distribution of construction project documents with estimating takeoff integration
* invitations to bid and project communications
* Bid proposal processing
* Bid project process and communications reporting and monitoring
Pricing
SmartBidNet is provided to general contractors on an annual licensing basis (SaaS). The cost is dependent on the number of users per year.
Purpose
SmartBidNet facilitates general contractors moving their preconstruction process online, reducing the amount of paper used by both general contractors and subcontractors (subs) in project prequalification, bidding, and proposals. Communication between GCs and subs related to bid proposals, including notes, requests for more information, invitations, proposals, and project documents is done from the system via email or fax. General contractors build a database within the system of subcontractors and vendors and then request bids and proposals from prequalified subs and vendors for a given project. Subs and suppliers submit proposals and information directly into the system where GCs can view the information.
Security
SmartBidNet stores and manages project bid information used by the general contractors. GC users store no information on their hardware nor do they install any software on their devices.
