Slam dunk cinema

Slam Dunk Cinema is a radio programme broadcast regularly on Sheffield Live every Saturday afternoon between 12PM and 1PM. The show, 'Sheffield's flagship movie review show', features film reviews from film critic Van Connor; whilst his producer and co-presenter Dave Walker "referees". The show is broadcast live on radio; with each programme available on iTunes as a podcast typically the same day as broadcast.
Broadcast history
Connor took over the long-defunct film program for Sheffield Live in July 2011 and immediately set about finding a co-presenter, deciding on Dave Walker - a former classmate from Sheffield Hallam University. Prior to the show's debut, Adam Heeley (another friend of Connor's) joined the crew, initially as an informal technical consultant and quickly became the show's executive producer.
Features
The first fifteen minute segment of the show normally contains a run down of the week's top ten films, with brief comments from Connor. The second typically sees a run through of the week's film news (with varying reactions of dismay from Walker) and the week's competition. The final half hour is devoted to full reviews of recently released films, culminating at the end of each show with Connor identifying his 'Film of the Week'.
Running jokes
Over the course of the show, several recurring jokes have emerged. These include:
* Connor's referring to Walker as his "lovely assistant".
* Walker's impersonation of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
* The duo's unabashed love of homoerotic cinema and 80's action films.
* Connor's "man love" for Ben Affleck and Tom Hardy.
* Walker's physical appearance being "pirate-like".
* Connor's continual participation in "Man Night", in which he and one-time guest John Coulson "embrace manly cinematic goodness".
* Friend of the show, Rob Yeomans, having worked briefly on The Iron Lady.
