SkyVector.com is an aviation website which displays Aeronautical charts as a continuous map (similar to Google Maps) for ease of flight-planning. The website has options to display aviation charts including Terminal Area Charts, Sectional Charts, and En-Route Charts. Weather (in METAR form) is displayed over corresponding areas of observations. Additional Tools include a plotter function, as well as airport information. Uses in Industry In October 2010, ARINC, the creators of ACARS, integrated SkyVector technology into its flight planning capabilities, allowing zoom-able maps and dynamic chart changing. |
