FlightView is company that develops flight tracking tools for the general aviation, commercial aviation, and private aviation. FlightView Dispatch, the first product introduced in 1994, was the only commercial radar-based set of applications available in real-time flight tracking. Founded in 1981 as RLM Software and headquartered in Allston, Massachusetts, FlightView's mission is to make real time flight information ubiquitous and actionable for a smoother travel experience. For the general public application, families of travelers can visit the FlightView website (also available on mobile devices) to access free real-time airline-independent flight tracking information. For commercial use, FlightView’s flight data is used by aviation and travel companies in different formats and in a variety of situations. A real-time flight tracking system allows the user to graphically view up-to-the-minute positions and status of all aircraft within a specific area of interest in a given time. FlightView combines airline schedule data, airline operational data, and radar-based flight information for aircraft flying with Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) in or near the US and Canada. Aircraft flying IFR transmit data such as airspeed, heading, altitude and geographic coordinates used by air traffic controllers as well as private users. FlightView Products *Dispatch — An interactive flight tracking application for tracking commercial and private instrument flight rule (IFR) flights in the context of current air traffic and weather conditions. *Web Components — Multiple modules of different flight and weather information, such as Air Traffic, Airport Delay, FIDS, and a Flight Tracker, that are integrated into existing websites. *Displays — Electronic screens, placed anywhere air travelers who are interested in current flight conditions gather, show multiple modules of information: live air traffic, live weather, airport delays, FIDS, and flight tracking. *Data Feeds — Flight tracking data presented in different formats: XML data integrated into FIDS, websites, IVR and scheduling software or a visual flight en route. Data feeds come in 4 types: subscription or query-based XML and Airport Delay data feed or batch-feed Flight Tables. *Reports — Flight history or landing reports showing far distant or recent history, trends, market size and audit of landing fees. It uses a multitude of search parameters and data is served in a table format that can be used in any spreadsheet program. *Consulting — FlightView has 20+ years of experience designing, building and supporting mission critical systems and delivering comprehensive solutions for a number of air traffic initiatives for the FAA and the John A.
