Persuasive and sales messages

The purpose of persuasion and sales messages are mainly to persuade a certain audience into making a decision or satisfying a need that is fabricated and does not really exist. Persuasion can come in many shape and form and we encounter some sort of persuasion several times a day. Persuasion Persuasion can be defined as the skill to use argument or dialogue to modify an individual’s beliefs or actions. To persuade is to present information in an ethical way, allowing others to understand the advantages of what you are offering The 3-x-3 writing process The 3-x-3 writing process is a strategy to use in order to create a successful structure for laying a foundation for persuasion write a successful persuasive message. It takes three steps: -The first step in the 3-x-3 writing process is to analyze the purpose. This means to identify your purpose from the beginning in order to be able to shape your message in such a way that it will leave your audience no choice but to feel convinced that you can satisfy what they need or what they are looking for. -The second step in this writing process is adapting to the audience. This means to be able to demonstrate to your audience that your re quest will be able to solve a problem or fulfills a need they did or did not have. An important part of getting to know your audience is to consider the questions that they will be asking themselves when you give them your offer and to find the appropriate answers. -The next step would be to research and organize date. This would mean to brainstorm, prepare cluster diagrams and collect ideas. This would be very useful when your request can be questioned or not believed by your audience. Proper Research In order to be credible and to persuade others, doing research on whatever you are trying to persuade someone about is crucial. This is important because you need to sound like you are convinced by your own product in order to sell it to others. When you don't know about the product you're talking about, you will not be able to answer the questions you may be faced with and this makes you seem like you are not professional and certainly not convincing. Prewriting, Writing and Revising Prewriting: analyzing the subject you will be talking about would take part in the prewriting step. Another thing you should be doing in this section would be to anticipate and adapt to be able to indirectly make your audience hear what they want to hear in case they are not interested in what you are saying from the beginning. Writing: Researching is the first step in writing a message because you have to have enough facts in order to sound convincing. Being organized in your writing is very important too in order to gain your audience's attention. The last step would be to actually compose the message. Revising: This step is basically to go over what you have written and make sure it has a clear message but that it also has no mistakes in it for it to be professional. Motivation The whole point of persuasion or writing a sales message is to initiate motivation. This means to be able to get your audience to take action and to take what you are offering them. This will be done by writing a successful sales message which consists of being credible, persuasive, friendly, professional and ethical. Further Information * *
