Silent River Film Festival

Silent River Film Festival is an annual international film festival held in Irvine, California. The festival's focus is on independent filmmakers from both East and West. It also has a mission to raise awareness of social issues through its "Cinema for Causes" program.
History
The festival's founder, director and CEO is East Indian film director, writer, actor and poet, Kalpna Singh Chitnis. The festival was inaugurated in 2011, September 9-16, with more than 80 films from the North America, Asia, South America and Europe.

River Glory Award
Given to Jon Fitzgerald for "a valuable contribution to cinema, as an art, a business and a vehicle for positive change."
River Heritage Award
Given to Babu Subramanium "for valuable contribution to the art of cinema in East and West."
River Spirit Awards
Jean-Marie Benjamin and Abby Sunderland "for commendable achievement and work of courage, resulting into contribution to the Art of Cinema and the World."
