Sietse Bakker

Sietse Bakker (born May 25, 1984 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch internet entrepreneur who started his career as founder and editor-in-chief of the popular independent Eurovision Song Contest website esctoday.com. In 2003, he launched a multimedia company called MediaBattery.
In 2004, Sietse Bakker took part in the Dutch national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest as song writer. Together with Romeo Samuel, he wrote the song The Power of an Angel for Mary Amora. The song ended up at the 6th place in one of the semi-finals and as a result, didn't qualify for the finals. Jury member Cornald Maas criticized the song for being "old-fashioned".
In 2005 and 2006, Sietse Bakker took seat in jury of the Greek national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2006, he took seat in the jury of Eurolaul, to select the Estonian entrant to the Eurovision Song Contest.
In 2006, the young entrepreneur left esctoday.com to become Project Manager Internet for the Eurovision Song Contest, Junior Eurovision Song Contest and, later on, the Eurovision Dance Contest at the European Broadcasting Union. In May 2008, he was appointed Manager Communications & Public Relations for the three events.
In November 2008 he gave a presentation with his best friend and entrepreneur at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce about young entrepreneurs and their companies. May 2009 he appeared in an backstage item of CNN at the Eurovision Song Contest.
