Siamak Namazi (born October 14, 1971, Tehran, Iran), an Iranian-American business consultant. He is now the General Manager of a Dubai-based oil and gas consultancy. Up until 2007, he was the managing director of Atieh Bahar Consulting, a Tehran-based firm that advises foreign investors. He has appeared regularly as a commentator in the international media, including CNN International, BBC World, NPR, The Financial Times, Fortune Magazine, Forbes Magazine, Reuters, The New York Times, Time, The Washington Post, Business Week, and the Guardian. Publications He is the lead author of a study that was published as a viewpoint by the Wilson Center showing how sanctions are unintentionally contributing to the shortage of medicine and medical products in Iran. . Biography Early life Namazi has a BA in International Relations from Tufts University and an MS in Urban Planning from Rutgers University, under a Russell Fellowship. He also has an MBA from the London Business School. Career In 2001, he was a visiting scholar in the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, DC. In 2005, he was a Public Policy Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. From November 2005 to February 2006, he was a Reagan-Fascell Democracy Fellow at the National Endowment for Democracy where he worked on a comparative study of different models of economic reform and their impact on political development, as well as the role of the private sector in promoting good governance. He is also a founding member of the Canada-based NGO, the International Association of Iranian Managers.
