Shwartzman Etrogs

Shwartzman Etrogs is a company that has been well known for dozens of years as one of the longest-established producers and marketers of Etrogs in Israel and all over the world.

History
Shwartzman Etrogs (esrog) was established 60 years ago by Rabbi Yehoshua Zev Shwartzman. He was later joined by his son, Rabbi Hanan Shwartzman, who assisted him and continued on his path of the holy work.

After many years of work, Hanan's son, Bechlel Shwartzman, and his grandson, Ori Shwartzman, continued to maintain and to nurture the orchards that belong to the family, eventually becoming the largest growers in the world.

The original saplings planted in the Shwartzman orchard originated from the Braverman stock. The plantation of non-grafted esrogs was initiated by Rabbi Yehoshua Leib Diskin, one of Jerusalem's leading Rabbinical authorities. Many of the trees were later replaced by a plantation sourcing from Hadera by an esteemed Shochet with the family name Ordang. A later strain came from the family of Rabbi A.Y. Karelitz, better known as the Chazon Ish, and delivered to the Shwartzman family.
