Showzam

Showzam is a festival of Circus, Magic and New Variety and is held annually in Blackpool during February.

It builds on the town’s history and heritage in entertaining people and over the 2 weeks of the festival, a number of high-profile events are programmed that deliver some of the world’s best performers amongst a host of free street events and entertainment.

The Inaugural Festival was held in 2008 and featured amongst others:
· Showtown Exhibition - An exhibition of Blackpool's fine history of show posters
· Probably the World’s Greatest Magic Show - Spectacular tricks and illusions
· Insect Circus
· Whoopee Carnival Ball faeturing Miss Immodesty Blaize
· Heat the Streets - Spectacular fire and light displays all over Blackpool
· Magical Mela - Unbelieveable illusions from a different tradition of magic
· World Junior Magician Championships
· Duckie’s 12th Birthday
· Circus Carnival - A brand new circus created for Showzam

The 2009 Festival will run 13-22 February
