Shorena Chertkoev

Shorena Chertkoev is a Georgian ballroom dancer and instructor.
Early life
Shorena Gachechiladze started to dance at the age of four in her father's ballroom dance school and he became her primary dance coach. Mr. Gachechiladze, who serves as the President of the Georgian Dance Federation, also encouraged his daughter's interest in figure skating. While dancing at her father's studio, she met Gocha Chertkoev, who became her dancing partner and then her husband.
Career
Chertkoev has made several guest appearances in the international show Dancing with the Stars. She began competing with Gocha and they won the Georgian Amateur Championships in both Latin and standard ballroom dance six times. In 1991, they began to compete professionally, concentrating on Latin dance.  Shortly afterwards, they had the opportunity to travel to a dance studio in Dallas, Texas for several months.  Following a period back in the Georgian Republic, they immigrated to the United States.
In 1993, the pair entered U.S. dance competitions and reached the final rounds in several national championships. They competed for five years in the PBS television program Championship Ballroom Dancing. They won numerous professional Latin-American style dance championships such as the Southwestern U.S. Invitational, the Florida State Championships, the Hawaii Star Ball, Galaxy Dance Sport Championship, Open to The World Rising Star United States Dance Sport Championship, Sapphire Ball, and Manhattan Dance Sport Championship. They represented the United States at the World Latin Dance Championships in South Africa and at the Blackpool Dance Sport Championship Team Match.
After retiring from the world of competition, they co-created and starred in Discovery Network's hit reality show Ballroom Bootcamp, among numerous other TV appearances gaining the attention of Hollywood. They also began judging for several well-known competitions.  Gocha has been the head judge on Dancing with the Stars in Georgia for 5 seasons.
Gocha and Shorena established a coaching practice in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for American professional and amateur dance competitors.
