Natalia Sosnina

Natalia Sosnina (born September 21, 1985) is a Russian professional ballroom dancer, choreographer, and a dancesport coach. She has achieved considerable success in the Professional Latin and Ballroom style of dancing, both nationally and internationally. Natalia is a full member of USA Dance organization and the National Dance Council of America.
Sosnina began her dance training at the age of 9 years with an early focus on Latin Ballroom Dancing graduating to her current focus on IOC sanctioned DanceSport.
During that period she has been trained by some of Russia’s dance luminaries including, Mr Valeriy Gulai, President of the Moscow Federation of Dance Sport and Mr Petr Chepotarev, Vice president of the Moscow Federation of Dance Sport.
Sosnina is currently training in the U.S.A. under the tutelage of Mr. Jonathon Wilkins the 8 time and Current American Ballroom Champion and is in training for the Olympic trials for both the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 US Olympics, depending on the outcome of the upcoming IOC sanction.
Early life
Natalia was born as an only child in Moscow 21 of September 1985. She was only 9 years old when she attended her first dance class. In the beginning she started dancing a Russian National Dancing in one of the Sport-Cultural centers in Moscow. She took part in different local performances and soon after became her participation on the bigger arenas and theaters. Soon after she comes to her first ballroom dance class and it has changed her life. She found the partner and became an active participant in competitions slowly but consistently getting to the top international level. Sosnina began her International dance training with an early focus on Latin and Ballroom Dancing winning the first title of Amateur Ballroom dance champion of Russia at 1997. During that period she has been trained by some of Russia’s dance luminaries including, Mr Valeriy Gulai, President of the Moscow Federation of Dance Sport and Mr Petr Chepotarev, Vice president of the Moscow Federation of Dance Sport.
Career in dance
Her first international success was in 1997 in Mannheim where she became a finalist; and since than she had a sequence of very successful career in the field of Ballroom dancing with the concentration for the International style. She won several titles as Youth Ballroom Dance Champion, Amateur Latin Champion, Finalist in Multiple dance Competitions in Europe and World Cup Semifinalist.
She started teaching from assisting to the coaches in 2001 and later established her own students whom she has prepared for the national and international level competitions with the individual lessons.
By 2003 her teaching had become very popular among the students and she has started to teach her own groups in her native club TCK “Aleko”. From this period she has successfully represented Russia on different international level competition in Europe. In 2006 she already was giving seminars in London for the International Latin and Ballroom Dancing.
After she was done with the university she decided to come to United States to discover the dancing world in America and to learn English. Shortly after she was granted O1 visa she started to teach at “You should be dancing” Dance Studio in New York. She was training in the U.S.A. under the tutelage of Mr. Jonathon Wilkins the 8 times and Current American Ballroom Champion. She was actively participated in multiple Performances and shows around US and was granted America’s best show case winner.
