Shias of Padhrar

Shias of Padhrar are a Shia community of village Padhrar, District Khushab, Pakistan.
Shias of Padhrar are about 35-40% of the total population of Padhrar. Shia sect of Islam spread in Padhrar town in earlier 20th century. The founder of this community in Padhrar was Malik Fatah Muhammad who belonged to local tribe of Padhrar, named Babaal.First matami jaloos in the town was held by murdal subcost of(punjwal family).Peer Fazal shah sahib was the first man who introduced shia sect in this area.Since then the community is growing in number and vigour in the town. The present supporters and followers of this sect in the town have spread over the town, yet the main lead of the community is in the hands of (sub-cost of punjwal(Murdal),dhara,babaal and jowalaka families.
The main procession(Matmi Jaloos)of the town are held on 6th,9th,and 10th moharram every year.6th moharam jaloos organized by jawalaka family,9th moharamm Earlier this 'Matmi Jaloos' was led by Malik Alam Khan(late), an elder of the Babaal family. Presently this Jaloos is organized by zakir murid and other member of babaal family.Shias of the town also organize Majalis on annual basis. There were three great allama sahiban from this town.Malik MULAZIM hussain principal madresa in bhakar city Malik ATTA muhammad,AND malik MEHADI HASSAN alvi who was member of markazi rohit_e_halal commity pakistan. One of the main imambargha of the town is also named at name of mualana MEHADI HASSAN ALVI (ALVI IMAMBARGHA).Hence, with the support and faith of its followers, 2Nd imambarga at the name of Malik Hakim khan matmi jaloos led by malik m Nawaz turbazi ( punjwal) the sect has become one of the main sects of the town after Sunni sect..
