2013 Rawalpindi riots

On 15 November, day of Ashura according to the Islamic calaneder, riots broke out between hardline Sunni and Shia muslims,in Rawalpindi fourth largest city of Pakistan, when a procession commemorating the martyrdom of Husayn ibn Ali, who is also the third Imam of shia muslims, came in front of a mosque, named Madressah Taleemul Quran, which belonged to the hardline sunni sect.
Aftermath
The riots results in the deaths of at least nine people, a portion of the nearby market, Raja Baazar, was set on fire. The subdue the violence curfew had to be imposed for two days in nineteen towns of the garrison city which lasted for two days.
