Sheppey Corner

Sheppey Corner is a Grade II listed thatched cottage in the picturesque Cotswold village of Stanton, Gloucestershire. The cottage was constructed around 1650, and it is often considered one of the most picturesque cottages in the Cotswolds, and is featured in many Cotswolds calendars and postcards; it is truly a Cotswold cottage. Like the rest of the village, it is constructed entirely out of Cotswold stone, a honey-coloured limestone that the Cotswold Hills consist of.
Location
It can be found halfway up the high street, where there is a lane that breaks off up to the right.It is located near the town of Broadway, Worcestershire. Although it is officially in Worcestershire, it is actually more suited to Gloucestershire, as it is located on the border of the two counties. The village it is in is at the foot of the Cotswolds Escarpment. It is near Stanway, Gloucestershire, location of Stanway house.
Layout
Although it was originally one big house and barn, probably shared between one or two families, it is now divided into three cottages, Cloisters, Sheppey Cottage, and Pixie cottage. It was extended rearwards in the 1960s. On the near side cottage to the high street, Cloisters, there is a garage.
Next door to Cloisters is a large paddock, of which a little is cut away, what remains of the foundations of a house that was to be built there.
The Cotswolds Way
The Cotswold Way runs right by the front of the house, and thus the house is featured on many ramblers web sites.
