Osvaldo Mariscotti

Osvaldo Mariscotti is an American artist and entrepreneur best known for his paintings which depict black figures surrounded by varying color configurations. He graduated as a civil engineer from the University of Buenos Aires and later devoted himself actively to painting. He had several one-person and group exhibitions in Buenos Aires as well as participations in several national and provincial salons.
Being of Italian descent (Alessandria, Piedmont), he spent part of his childhood in Italy. He made several study trips to Europe, and on his return presented his first solo show at Artopia Gallery in New York City. He was then offered a four-year exclusive contract with Artsforum Gallery in New York City, where he successively participated in several solo and group shows. Mariscotti currently lives and works in New York City.
His museum group exhibitions include the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Monreale in Palermo, Sicily (2014), and the Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Art in Las Vegas (2014).
Exhibitions
Since taking part in the 9th edition of the Florence Biennale, Mariscotti's work has been widely exhibited in Italy in solo and group exhibitions. A few months after the Florence exhibition, Mariscotti participated in the Rome Biennale hosted at the Sale del Bramante. In 2014, Mariscotti had his first exhibition in Venice during the Carnival of Venice.
