Serge Ngando

Serge Ngando is a bass and double bass player, record producer, arranger and guitar player from Cameroon.
He studied jazz bass in Montpellier, France at the Jam jazz school, then he decided that the bass was no longer a challenge.
He moved to Paris in 1993, and there studied classical double bass at the renowned École Normale de Musique de Paris (Alfred Cortot). After 5 years of studies, he was awarded the Brevet d'Enseignement, the teaching certificate for classical double bass.
He produced the album Sepia (Tropical Music/Sony BMG) for singer-songwriter Coco Mbassi in 2001. The album was nominated for the BBC Radio 3 World Music Awards in 2002 and won the German World Music CD Critics' Awards.
He also produced her second album Sisea (Tropical Music/Sony BMG) in 2003, and is now working on arranging and producing her third album.
