SEO 2.0

The term "SEO 2.0" refers to a perceived second generation of search engine optimization and search engine algorithm manipulation. It is the next logical step in search engine optimization.
The term first became notable after Clinton Cimring, former president of Getupdad, Inc., announced his intention to use the term in commerce in an interview with the South Florida Interactive Marketing Association at NBC studios in Miramar, FL in 2006.. Unlike Web 2.0, which is not a new version of the Web, The E-Commerce Times has stated that SEO 2.0 is intended to be a new and improved version of search engine optimization in response to new search engine algorithms like Google page rank and Web 2.0 websites. In December 2007 Google started actively penalizing sites selling paid text links. How Google identifies link farms and other PageRank manipulation tools are among Google's trade secrets.
The following quote appears under Cimring's company, Search Engine Partner:
Many SEOs and Search engine optimization consultants have questioned whether the term is appropriate considering that search engine optimization is an ever evolving industry.http://en. .org/wiki/ :Articles_for_deletion/SEO_2.0
SEO 2.0 was formerly recognized as a term on Matt Cutts' Blog in November 21, 2007.
There are now over 32,200,000 results in Google for the term "SEO 2.0" and several other search engine optimization companies have begun using the term, such as Black Wood Productions, Hit Tail, and Search Engine Roundtable.
