The Save Ringer group is a community on Facebook dedicated to saving the recently cancelled CW show Ringer. The group's main objective is to bring the show back to the CW or another network that will pick up the show. Cancellation and aftermath After a decline in ratings and viewership from the three month hiatus over the holiday break, it was deemed that Ringer would likely be cancelled. The CW thus moved the finale to April 17, 2012, instead of May 2012 like the rest of the shows and put the Canadian series The L.A. Complex in its timeslot. Ringer was nominated in E! save one show campaign and came in third place. Multiple petitions were thus created with one that has over 15,000 signatures. After about a month of the shows uncertainty, the CW official cancelled the series on May 11, 2012. After the cancellation a group on Facebook called the Save Ringer group has gained over 1,000 followers worldwide and is a community were fans can go online and create ideas to bring back Ringer to the CW or another network. After the show's cancellation more petitions were thus created to appeal to other networks to pick up the show. Soon though the show was nominated for four more awards including a Teen Choice award for Choice TV Actress in a Drama for Sarah Michelle Gellar, a Zap2it award, and two E! online awards. The show has now been nominated for sixteen awards thus quadruple more than any of the freshman shows on the CW and recently the show later became the third highest selling TV show on iTunes amongst all CW shows. On May 24, 2012, it was officially revealed that Ringer was the CW's fifth highest-rated series, with its viewership ratings and demographics beating out the network's renewed series, from fellow freshman comedy-drama Hart of Dixie to Nikita, America's Next Top Model and Gossip Girl in overall viewership. Chip in efforts The group is currently looking for ways to earn money to help with ideas to help get the community's efforts noticed. These efforts include a chip in donation's and autographs available on the popular online selling site Ebay. Ideas currently in production Bombarding has always been one of the main objectives for the group. The group bombards on twitter with the tag #Ringer2013 and on Facebook too. It's used to help get the word out to possible network choices to bring the show back on air which include: FX, TNT, AMC, ION, Lifetime, USA, and Netflix. Ideas in Development These ideas are expected to happen in the near future and are being used to help promote the show. Coffee cup sleeves (July 9, 2012) Coffee cup sleeves are currently in production from a local coffee shop in Burbank, California by the CW's offices. These coffee cup sleeves will have #Ringer2013 and are expected to be sent to the CW offices when they are back from the printer. Billboard (July 2012) A billboard that will be about a mile from the CW offices is currently in development that will have the tag #Ringer2013.
