Sarah Marie Blanton

Sarah Marie Blanton, also known as Veronica West when she interned as an on-air radio personality for WFXJ-FM in Ashtabula, Ohio, is a Houston-based Texas country music artist. Sarah graduated from in 2001. In 2005, during the Champ Car Grand Prix of Cleveland she competed in The Face of Champ Car competition held in Cleveland, Ohio and won the title of Miss Cleveland Grand Prix. During the Grand Prix of Cleveland Sarah was featured in the Reality television Series Race Car Driver. She then traveled to Mexico City to compete against five other finalists from around the globe for the title of The Face of Champ Car 2006, the title went to Brandi Latimer of Toronto, Canada.
In 2006, she graduated from Cleveland State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Television / Radio Broadcasting and Political Science. Before accepting a job offer with the Grand Prix of Houston within their Marketing Department and moving to Houston She was also a Semi-finalist in the Miss Ohio USA 2007 Pageant, which had 67 contestants, held in Portsmouth, Ohio on 23 September 2006, the title went to Anna Melomud of Richmond Heights, Ohio.
While working for the Grand Prix of Houston and managing a nightclub, she worked on developing her music career. A customer she met at the night club she managed became her investor by helping her produced her first CD and funding a promotional tour.
Ten of the eleven tracks on her self-titled album, which include singles "Listen Here Boys" and "Straight Jacket Love", were written by Sarah, who draws upon her life experiences for the lyrics. She lists the Beatles, Shania Twain, Gretchen Wilson and Gwen Stefani as her primary musical influences.
