Brent Lundy is an American singer,songwriter, guitarist, bass player, and radio host, from Aiken, South Carolina. He is best known as the lead singer of the influential southeastern indie rock band, Lundy, but began to gain public notice and critical acclaim through several years fronting [http://www.free-times.com/index.php?cat121304064644348&z_Issue_ID11461311070710727&ShowArchiveArticle_ID=11461311070744538 The Ultraviolets (1997-2005)] who opened many times for Mercury recording artists Cravin' Melon, and an appearance on MTV Unplugged as an opening act for Hootie & The Blowfish in 1997. Early Career Inspired by the Elvis Costello song, God's Comic, Lundy formed his first professional band in 1993, called God's Comics. Although the band released a self-titled album in 1994 and dominated the rock and roll scene in Columbia, South Carolina in such places as Rockafellas, in the early and mid 1990's, the band soon evolved, with ever changing members and became the Ultraviolets. As frontman of the Ultraviolets, his songs (such as "Rocket Girl”) received praise and citations from critics, stating his songs contained “high energy and driving percussion” and “is radio-friendly rock and roll." In addition, he worked with many renowned artists under the label, Infra and self-released independent albums, such as, Hootie & the Blowfish’s Mark Bryan, the Connells’ Steve Potak, and Peter Holsapple of Continental Drifters. The Ultraviolets released a total of three albums: Down South Night Club (1999), Ultraviolets (2000), and Butterfly to a Blowtorch (2001). During this formidable phase, Brent Lundy joined forces with Donnie Scearce, a seasoned guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and owner of Sugar Recording. The pair proved quite a songwriting talent and team, continuing their collaboration once the Ultraviolets disbanded. 2006-Present Lundy and Scearce led the formation of the new band, Lundy, and began work on an EP titled, Lundy. Self-released in 2008, this praised work caught the attention of , who began working on a full length studio album with Lundy. In creating this much anticipated album, Big Nobody (TBA-2011), Brent has worked with such greats as Kenny Aronoff, Chris Chaney, and the legendary Steve Churchyard and even recorded some of the album at the famous on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. One of the new songs off of Big Nobody, Overflow, is currently being used to help promote a new iPhone application called, MixMeIn. Some of the members of Lundy also play in a cover band called Leghorn which plays Wild Wing Cafe venues and other venues in the Southeast. When not working with Lundy or Leghorn, Brent plays solo acoustic acts or duo acoustic acts with Donnie Scearce across the Southeast, largely in Columbia, Charlotte and Atlanta.
