Sara Hawthorne

Sara Emily Hawthorne (DOB June 1, 1987) was born in Fairfield, Iowa at Jefferson County Hospital. Her siblings include Bryan and Galen Hawthorne, a current student at the University of Iowa. Her parents, David and Eileen Hawthorne, still retain their house in the country just miles from town.
Hawthorne began acting at an early age in theater. She appeared in performances of Music Man, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, and Fiddler on the Roof at local theaters. In her sophomore year at Fairfield Community High School, she landed the lead part in Neil Simmons' "Fools". At the beginning of her college career, Hawthorne auditioned and was accepted as a paid actor for the Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts. During her career at this increasingly renowned theater, Hawthorne had the opportunities to work with theatrical geniuses such as Richard Kind, Kristen Huffman, and Donna Lynn Champlin. Hawthorne ended her theater career in Iowa with the lead in Bye Bye Birdie.
After a brief stint on campus at the University of Iowa, focusing in Theater Arts, Hawthorne decided to move from rural Iowa to Los Angeles, California, in January 2009. Since her move to Hollywood, Hawthorne continues work on her degree by taking correspondence classes through the University of Iowa, with a plan to graduate within a year. She has also successfully landed an agent and has received some modeling contracts and television appearances. As of age 22, Hawthorne's credits include cameos on NBC's Modern Family, HBO's True Blood and Curb Your Enthusiasm, and MC Hammer's 'Can't Touch This' LA Flash Mob Dance ().
