Sanford Webb

Sanford "Sandy" Webb was an American engineer and perennial candidate.
Webb, who worked for 37 years at Boeing, ran for mayor of Renton, Washington, as well as for a seat on the Renton city council, more than eight times from the mid 1970s through the mid 1990s, never winning a race. His best showing was a 1989 city council election in which he faced Nancy Mathews and earned 44-percent of the vote. In addition to his frequent runs for municipal office, Webb was also a fixture in the public comment period of city council meetings, which he began attending in 1977, criticizing what he perceived as business subversion of local government. Webb was also active in opposing plans for the expansion of Boeing facilities in the Renton area.
