Sameer Inamdar

Sameer Inamdar(born 1987) is an young, dynamic Indian classical flautist in Dhrupad, the oldest existing form of north Indian classical music (Hindustani classical music) and part of the Dagar family of musicians. He learned Dhrupad at the Dhrupad Sansthan, Bhopal under the able guidance of Gundecha Brothers. He is very well known for his various musical innovations and is probably the only Flautist to play Flute in Pure Dhrupad Style.
Early life & Training
Sameer Inamdar was born in Sangli into a Brahmin family. Even after being a software engineer by qualification, Sameer has dedicated his entire life for popularizing dhrupad on flutes.
He has passionately been into music and flutes from the age of 10. Sameer moved to Bhopal, for training under dhrupad maestros, Ramakant & Umakant Gundecha.
Career
Sameer is constantly trying to popularize dhrupad on flute through his concerts and workshops. He has performed widely in India and has created a large fan following. He is also striving hard to make dhrupad accessible to common men. Through his workshops and performances he has earned many students from all corners of India and abroad.
In 2010, he created the World Record Flute - Pavan Venu (World's Smallest Flute), which entered Limca Book of Records. Sameer then came into lime light and since then he has always been in focus of people in the music circuit and media, for his innovative experiments on flute and unique dhrupad on flute style.
