Sallie Barnhill Miles

Biography
Sallie B. Miles (nee' Barnhill) was born in 1840 as a slave . She recalls living a hard life, Being taken away from her mother at a tender age by the Barnhill Slave Owner In South Carolina to a Miles Family Plantation in Walkertown, NC , That's were in the quarters she met John they stay as far away from each other though they loved each other. When , Sallie found she was pregnant with Johns' baby it was then that she decided that there was something to do now.
Escape
Sallie & John planned to run away far away , So they ran and met a strange white-woman who believed in freedom and led them to a barn and led them across a river, Pass Lake Erie to Alexandria, VA . When, they arrived in Virginia their eldest child was born Joseph (Joe) many more children were born .. They later in 1866 moved backed after Slavery was over with.
Life Span
The courageous woman had done many things in her life, She in 1845 refused to accept African-American (Negro) rules such as Buses .
Death
Sallie became the world's oldest woman in 1940 when she turned 100 and lived 17 years longer, She lived a long, blessed life as a ex-slave and older woman.
