J. Reeta Jones (born October 17, 1898) is an American supercentenarian who was born in Tennessee, though currently lives in Burke County. Life As a child, Jones attended a private boarding school called Little Creek Academy. This was where she met her future husband, Oscar D. Jones, who was a farmer then. She was married Oscar at the age of 16, who died in 1985 after seventy years of marriage. Together, they had six children, only one was which was born through natural birth, not a C-section. At the age of 75, Rita broke her ankle while climbing a cherry tree. According to Rita, one of the secrets to long life is a vegetarian diet, which she switched to at the age of 47. She also says that drinking grape juice contributes to good health. Longevity records *Since March 7, 2010, J. Reeta Jones became the 34th oldest living person in the world.
