Sagopa Kajmer

Sagopa Kajmer (real name Yunus Özyavuz) is a Turkish rapper. He worked with Turkish rapper Ceza during his early albums as Silahsız Kuvvet and Nefret. He has recently started getting attention by working with his wife and Turkish pianist Kolera. Songs written and produced by Sagopa Kajmer tend to reflect the chief components of existentialism. This includes alienation, loneliness, freedom of choice, and responsibility. In many ways, his vocabulary is highly diverse and he has the talent to integrate complex words into his songs. In particular, his lyrics are powerful, political and pessimistic.

Career
Sagopa Kajmer (Also known as "Sago" , "Kaf-Kef") was born in 1978 in Samsun, Turkey. He started out his music career as a DJ calling himself DJ Mic Check. His style as a DJ was one of the most successful users of the Vinyl in Turkey. After finishing college in 1997 and earning a degree in Persian language and literature, he started his own style of rap music in his newly established studio Kuvvetmira. In 1999, he was featured on an underground Turkish mixtape titled Yeraltı Operasyonu ("Underground Operation"). Afterwards, he worked with Silahsız Kuvvet (now Ceza) on the albums Sözlerim Silahım and Ä°htiyar Heyeti. He was also listed as a producer on later Ceza albums Medcezir and Rapstar. During this time, he released his first three albums Sagopa Kajmer, , . The style of was much different than anything released before in Turkish hip hop. The lyrics of the songs were later compared to artists such as 2pac and 50 Cent. These albums did not gain a lot of attention and sold poorly due to low airplay. Later in 2004, he produced the soundtrack of the Turkish movie G.O.R.A..

Sagopa Kajmer married Turkish pianist Kolera in 2006. They started a new record label titled Melankolia Müzik and released their first album together titled Kafile. In 2007, Sagopa Kajmer released his second album with Kolera titled . The album had two discs; one included rap songs produced by Sagopa Kajmer and the second included instrumental versions of the first eighteen songs by Kolera.

Concert
In 2006/7 Sagopa Kajmer and his group performed in Europe and most parts of Turkey, they have been appluaded by their fans all around Europe. They are now well known as the some of the best people in the trade, it is also noted that they have amazing energy in concerts which makes it more entertaining rahter than listening to it on recorded audio.
