Safari Ltd. is a manufacturer of toy replicas and accessories. The company is based in Miami, Florida USA. Their primary market of sales is the United States but they also ship worldwide.
History
In 1980, Safari Ltd. was founded by Bernard and Rosemarie Rubel in Miami, Florida. Their first product was a rummy card game for children featuring endangered species throughout the world.
In 1986,Safari Ltd. acquired the license to manufacture scale model dinosaur models for the Carnegie Museum of Natural History based in Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania, USA. In 1990,Safari Ltd. acquired the license to also produce scale model sealife replicas for the Monterey Bay Aquarium based in Monterey,California, USA. Safari Ltd. is also a member of Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
Sculpting is done in the USA while the replicas are hand painted and produced in manufacturing facilities based in China. Safari Ltd has about 70 employees in their Miami distribution center of approximately 75,000 sq. ft.
Their current line of replicas include wildlife, farm, sea life, dinosaurs, knights, cowboys, fairies, insects, snakes, frogs, turtles, tortoises, and mythical creatures.They also carry binoculars, telescopes, bug viewers, educational puzzles and posters.
Safari Ltd is now owned by Ramona Pariente.
