Biography
Ryan Richards (born January 26, 1984) is a New Zealand actor currently residing in Auckland, New Zealand. His biggest success to date was playing the role of “Slug” in Laundry Warrior. Laundry Warrior is a U.S/Korean large-scale feature film currently in post-production in New Zealand. The film stars Geoffrey Rush, Kate Bosworth and Korean actor, Jang Dong-gun. It is written and directed by Sngmoo Lee and produced by Barrie M. Osborne.
Ryan spent the first 21 years of his life in Dunedin, New Zealand. Ryan graduated from secondary school and completed a further three years of tertiary education in Dunedin, studying Television, Theatre and Radio at (Aoraki Polytechnic and the University of Otago). At the start of 2005 he relocated to Wellington after acceptance into Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School - New Zealand’s oldest and most prestigious actor-training institution. During his three years of training he was able to take-on professional screen-roles outside of the classroom - this included the role of “Marko” in Ride with the Devil - A New Zealand television series. Although Toi Whakaari predominantly trains actors for live stage performance - the skills obtained are also equally useful in screen performance. Since graduating with a Bachelor of Performing Arts in November, 2007 - Ryan has been a working actor in Auckland having shot Laundry Warrior as well in other smaller-scale short-films and television commercials.
