Nathan McLeod

Nathan McLeod grew up with music all around him in small town Airdrie, Alberta. From Karaoke with the family to Community Theatre, it was evident that he loved to perform. At the age of 9 he moved to Toronto and realized his dreams were closer. Ever since the film “Spy Kids” was released, young Nathan was determined to be a “Spy Kid”. Moving to Toronto gave him the opportunities he wanted to start an acting career.
10-year-old Nathan had his first agent and started to get into film acting. That year he booked 3 commercials. His very supportive family and eager attitude in the audition room helped him at such a young age. He surprised the director by adding an “Austin Powers” impersonation to his slate. This set him apart from the crowd and always got a good laugh.
A year later, Nathan switched agents and signed with Norbert Abrams of Noble Caplan Abrams where he enjoyed opportunities to perform in an even broader spectrum. He attacked the role of Oliver in “Stage It Productions” Oliver Twist and studied film at “Dean Armstrong Studios” for many years to come. He landed over a dozen commercials and was booked to perform at the “Stratford Festival of Canada” in again the production “Oliver!” for ten months. In the run of “Oliver!” he performed in over 100 shows with fellow Canadian Actor Colm Feore

At twelve, Nathan’s Grandmother “Rose Sliger” who had been hospicing with him and his family for over 3 years, had passed away of Parkinson's. This impacted his life and inspired him to pick up the guitar and write his first original song “Grandma Don't Cry”. The 4-hour days of practicing the guitar enabled him to learn quickly. In that year he completed his run in Stratford and had done some voice work for the “PBS kids” television show “Super Why”. As the role of “Wolf”.
The 13th year flew by for Nathan beginning with his role of Jesus in “Godspell”; as well his guitar, piano, music theory, dance, acting, vocals and writing skills were continuing to grow. He competed in the Burlington and Peel Rotary Music Festivals for the first time and won scholarships in both. He was asked to perform at the “Festival of the Stars” concert for the closing of the Peel Music Festival. Nathan completed his Vocal and Theory exams that year and both with honors. It was a special year as he started to experience more in life. This gave him more to write about for his music. His film career was also taken to the next level when he landed his first movie “The Good Witch” with Catherine Bell.
Year number 14 was certainly crucial for Nathan's growth as a musician, actor and a person. As his year was full of great things, he continued to write more music. He then started recording demo's with Scott Fletcher of Spring Creek Studios. Nathan also performed in the “Stage It Arts” production of Grease as the role of Kinikie. All the great skills that were acquired from the “Stratford Festival of Canada”, “Stage It Arts”, “Linda Fletcher Voice Lessons” and “Dean Armstrong Acting Studios” were a few things that got him ahead of the game. He was prepared and accepted into the “Etobicoke School of the Arts” as a major in Musical Theatre.
15 years; Nathan was a very busy young man as he starred in "The Sound of Music", and "West Side Story" with Stage It Productions under the direction of Elizabeth Gomez. He also performed along with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in the "Broadway Pops" concerts on the prestigious stage of Roy Thompson Hall.
On the film side of things, Nathan filmed an action/mystery film based on its novel "At Risk". His very fun role to play involved him murdering his Grandmother with a hammer and shooting a police officer. Around that same time Nathan guest starred in episodes of the family channel hit series "The Latest Buzz". Nathan as the love interest to Amanda was a great experience especially in comedy.
Nathan at 16 starred in the Etobicoke School of the Arts review musical called "Lets' Hear It For Broadway" as the "Cat in the Hat" and the role of "Javert" in the Stage It Production of "Les Miserables". Nathan furthered his studies in his art with the Lewis Baumander Acting Studio which he has ever since highly acclaimed to all who inquire. He continued on to his appearance in the "Breakout Kings" was a fun experience for him where him and his family were abducted in their own home.
Now at 17 years old, Nathan is currently attending his second year at the Royal Conservatory of Music's "Academy" program studying classical voice, and performance. His third year at the "Etobicoke School of the Arts", his grade 11 year is full of rehearsing and practicing for various concerts, competitions, and performances. Many of his regular activities are now over due to Nathan's new role in the upcoming major TV series, "Life With Boys". From the creators of Hannah Montana, Nathan is excited to get started and bring smiles to people around the world.
