Ryan Avery (speaker)

Ryan Avery (born May 2, 1987) is an American Author and a Keynote Speaker and entrepreneur. Avery is known for winning the 2012. World Championship of Public Speaking for Toastmaster’s International at the age of 25 and becoming the youngest World Champion of Public Speaking in the history of the contest. He competed against 30,000 people from 116 different countries.
He has published three books: Speaker, Leader, Champion (2014) with Jeremy Donovan, Motivating Millenials (2017) with James Goodnow and Oh Yes, She Did! (2017).
Early life and education
Ryan Avery was born Ryan Austin Avery in Houston, Texas on May 2, 1987 and changed his name to Ryan Austin Turner Avery after marrying his wife Chelsea Turner Avery in 2010. The couple has two children. He graduated at Colorado State University in 2009 with a degree in Journalism and Anthropology, Technical Communications and Biological Anthropology.
Career
Ryan Avery started his professional career as Director of Marketing at Special Olympics Oregon where he worked there for two years starting in 2010. In August 2012, Ryan Avery won the World Championship of Public Speaking with his speech title “Trust Is A Must”. He and his wife, Chelsea, then started their company AveryToday, Inc. on December 12, 2012.
World records
His first World Record attempt was a failed attempt at breaking the Guinness World Record for the Largest Book Signing in history where he sold and signed 1,300 books at Colorado State University on April 16, 2014. Unsuccessful with that attempt, he tried for his next world record with his wife Chelsea and on December 8, 2015 they broke the world record for being the youngest couple to professionally speak on all seven continents
Partnered with Breaking History TV, Avery claims world records in Longest Bandana Chain in memory of firefighter Welles Crowther who died during the 9/11 attacks, Largest Book Pyramid with Bernie’s Book Bank and the Longest Static Cycling Class with Megan Hottman, People for Bikes and CycleBar.
