Ryan Harper

Ryan Paul Harper (born January 10, 1978) is an author, musician and American Religious History scholar at Princeton University. He wrote a thesis, A swaying tower of words : binary language and the artist in Dylan Thomas's 18 poems and has an album of music available on the internet, The Anxious Bench.

According to his own website, Harper was born in Cape Girardeau and his first musical experience was with his family's southern gospel band. At the age of eight he started playing drums. As a teenager, Haper describes himself as having developed an interest in rap music. Toward the end of his high school days, Harper notes that he started to date his future wife Lynn Elaine Casteel (Now Lynn Casteel Harper).

A Ryan Harper went to graduate school in the English department at Southeast as well.

Ryan and Lynn Harper now reside in Princeton, New Jersey where a Ryan Harper is pursuing a doctorate in American Religious History and Culture.
