Rusty Mike Radio is the only all-English Internet radio station in Israel. It broadcasts out of the Jerusalem offices of the Association of Americans and Canadians in Israel. Started by Adam Mallerman in 2009, the aim of the station is to provide music and chat for the 200,000+ native English speakers living in Israel. Lacking coverage of major news stories, Rusty Mike Radio focuses instead on local issues, interviewing people in the arts, local government, sports, charities, etc. The station's playlist features adult contemporary mixes as well as country chart sounds, with the addition of modern Israeli and religious Jewish music. Recently featured in the Jerusalem Post, the station gets around 5,000 listeners per day to its live feed and over 10,000 downloads per month. |
