Ross Golan and Molehead is an Alternative Rock/Reggae band from Los Angeles, California. It was formed by frontman Ross Golan in 2003 and released its politically charged debut album, Reagan Baby in time for the 2004 presidential elections.
Conception and debut Ross Golan met with Bryan Head and Billy Mohler in 2003, forming their band using Ross' own name and a portmanteau of Mohler and Head - "Molehead." (also a play on the expression) Their music consisted of political commentary, as well as social, with examples like, Eminem, The Holocaust, and Yassir Arafat.
The band teamed up in late 2003 with producer Marvin Etzioni, recording their debut over a period of four days. They released the LP, titled "Reagan Baby" on November 2nd, 2004. A video was also made for the single, "Move," although it did not fare well, receiving little play. Since the release, the band has done very little outside of the Los Angeles area, and it is unclear if Bryan or Billy are still members of the band, as Ross has stated that " is working on a new album, Quotations of Chairman Ross Golan."
Side projects Aside from announcing his new album, Ross has worked on various other musical projects within the Los Angeles area. He writes songs for Trillion and Joy Lang. Also, he developed a friendship with Tommy Walter of Abandoned Pools and together, they formed a band called Glacier Hiking which, since its creation, has seemed to become the main focus of both their musical careers, currently. They've played numerous shows along the West Coast, and are working on their debut album, "Life Expectancy."
