Roosevelt Academy Student Association

History
With the opening the the Roosevelt Academy in 2004 the question to set up a student association arose. A number of the first students decided to establish Roosevelt Academy Student Association, known as RASA, to represent the student body and facilitate student life.

Since April 1st, 2008 RASA has its own student bar called Barrel. The address is Bachtensteene 14, in the middle of our city Middelburg and close to the University buildings. The Bar is closed in the summer, but open during the semester on tuesdays, thursday evening and friday afternoon.

Mission
"RASA aims to represent the non-academic as well as the academic interest of its members, by playing a central role in campus life, as a coordinating, stimulating and integrating factor. The RASA ensures that the conditions are met under which students can develop their own ideas to make campus life better, enabling the whole student body to develop socially and intellectually."

In plain English this means that RASA functions as a sort of umbrella, trying to support every initiative made by you, the students. This implies that, whatever your interests are, with help from RASA you will be able to put them into practice. If you are passionate about film, start a film club or if you like chess, start a club with other chess-fans! Everything is possible! RASA and student life as a whole depends on initiatives made by you.

If you are a potential student and are looking around for a university that fits your needs, take some time to think about the possibilities the relatively new Roosevelt Academy offers you. As a student you can work on laying the foundation for all next generations to come. Your debate committee might become internationally known or the hockey team you started might still be winning 50 years from now! So, if you are looking for an exciting, active and meaningful time at university, Roosevelt Academy is the place to be!
