Ronnie Aloha

Similar to "Jody," a recurring character in many a military cadence, Ronnie Aloha is a fictional name given to represent the person who steals your significant other while you are away from home on a wildfire assignment, studying abroad, or deployed overseas. Traditionally thought of as a male, the name "Ronnie Aloha" can be used to denote a rival of either gender.
The origin of the term is unknown, but is used extensively by wildland firefighters, especially Hotshot crews who tend to spend the most time away from home.
A typical usage is as follows:
:"I got out of the French Foreign Legion only to find that Ronnie Aloha had shacked up with my girl."
:"Are you getting married this fall?"
:"Yes, if I don't get Ronnie Aloha-d during fire season."
