Indian Wrestling League

Indian Wrestling League is a proposed tournament by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) which is schedule in early 2013. This will be a six franchise based league scheduled in November 2014. The leading wrestlers both men as well as women will take part. The competitors will take part in seven different categories in freestyle wrestling. This league was planned to be played in 2012 keeping London 2012 Olympics in mind. However due to some reasons this did not occur. The Indian Wrestling League will have 168 played in period of 18 days. Each franchise will host a two day leg. The wrestlers will be vying for $ 3.5 million in auctions and prize money. Teams Indian Wrestling League will have six teams from six different cities in India. The eight teams on short list are: # Delhi # Mohali (Punjab) # Hissar (Haryana) # Mumbai / Pune (Maharashtra) # Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) # Ranchi (Jharkhand) # Kolkata (West Bengal) See Also
