Ron Baratono

Ron Baratono is an actor and writer from Melvindale, MI. Born Ronald David Baratono, in 1959. Mr. Baratono has held roles in 10 major productions. Currently a lower Michigan resident, he was recently invited back as a celebrity guest at the Monroe Comic Convention and Card Show, held in Monroe, MI, where he signed autographs and raised funds to benefit children with Autism in 2013.
Early life
Along with his two sisters, Kathleen and Michele, and Randy, his younger brother, Ron was raised during the 60's in Lincoln Park, Michigan. A student of Herbert Hoover Elementary and, now demolished, Huff Junior High School, he enjoyed sports his entire childhood from age 5. Quite the athlete, Ron earned numerous varsity letters through his high school sports career. He excelled in everything from Baseball to Basketball and Football. Avid fans of the explosion of pop culture that took the world by storm, groups such as Motown and The Beatles were the soundtrack to their childhood as it played in their eight tracks and tape decks. The Baratono family enjoyed the fruits of life and labor with many family vacations and fishing trips to the upper peninsula of Michigan. His family relocated to Melvindale, MI in 1975, where he graduated from Melvindale High School with his diploma in 1977.
Life's Work
Two weeks after graduating high school, Ron hired in for a career at Ford Motor Company as a Press Operator at the Dearborn Stamping plant in Dearborn, MI.
His employment with the automobile manufacturer began in 1977 at the Dearborn plant and lasted for eight years. Eventually transferring to Ford's Livonia Transmission plant, the largest manufacturing facility in North America, where he spent a number of years in various classifications of transmission product development before finishing out his last 12 years as a Manufacturing Technician. Among other things, Mr. Baratono is also an inventor. From 2000 through 2005, Ron was awarded four United States telematics and vehicle communication patents. He was featured in the New York Times newspaper in 2004 for one of the patent grants he was awarded as well. Accumulating a whopping 30 years of full retirement seniority at Ford Motor Company, he accepted his retirement package in 2007 at the age of 48.
Ron attended Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, achieving an Associates degree in Applied Science in 1993, then graduating with a Bachelors of Business Administration in 1995. Ron excelled in marketing courses while at the university and the subject quickly became his favorite curriculum. Along with his knack for marketing, Ron also has a passion for writing, publishing his first non fiction writing piece, "Family Reflections" in 1995, which was showcased in the Detroit News Herald, and continues to be read worldwide to this day.
In addition to his 30 year career at Ford Motor Company and his Bachelors of Business Administration degree, Ron followed his passion for acting and performing arts doing stage and dinner theater periodically through out his working years, he also directed The Blarney Stone Show broadcast on Wayne Cable Television Network from 1984-1985. Ron landed his first appearance role in a major production in 2003 with the John Mayer music video "Clarity," shot in California, USA, on Santa Monica Pier.
Family Life
Ron is the oldest brother of four Baratono siblings. His mother, Donna, and his father, Clarence, are still married and the Baratono family, remaining close to this day, reside in southeast Michigan. Married to Pam Baratono (Johnson) in 1985, the two of them settled in the city of Allen Park to start a family which bore two sons with his name, musician of 4 instruments, Scott David (1989), and Davenport University in-fielder, Tyler Anthony (1992).
Cinema
Ron began his career in the entertainment industry in 1984, directing The Blarney Stone Show on Wayne Cable Network (now W.O.W. Cable) and later went on to appear in the John Mayer music video "Clarity" in 2003. In 2010, he landed his first serious role as lead character Hugo in the Laguna Films independent production of "Search for Love Lost," directed by Joey Harlow, released on DVD in 2011. Following this role, he was cast along with George Clooney in "Ides Of March" as a dining guest. He also played a sports reporter in Mitch Albom's "Have a Little Faith" in 2011. He took a feature role as the boxing trainer on ABC's Detroit 187, airing from 2011-2012. Ron is also known for featured roles from 2011 as a father in Ron Oliver's "Smooch," and as a NFSB agent in "The Last Man Standing," as well as a Qualding Farmer in the 2013 Disney production "Oz the Great and Powerful."
Recently Mr. Baratono has gone into acting and writing full time with numerous projects presently in pre-production. Among them, he is cast as Doc in the Laguna Films & Firefly Films feature, "PAST DUE!", written by Benn Perry, and writing/acting his own independent short film script, set to begin production in mid 2014.

Along with his "Family Reflections" publication in 1995, Ron has also published numerous inspirational quotes, as well as poems such as, "My Life," "Empty Room, "The Storm," "Dark Clouds," "Dear Jesus,"God's Strength," and "The Light" A collection of his writing works can be found below, as well as associate published promotions pages, Be Positively Inspired and Trust in the Lord. He continues to write inspirational and religious writing pieces to this day.
