Huan Shiying Kune Do is a new hybrid martial arts system based on real world application and adaptation. History Huan Shiying Kune Do is a new American hybrid martial art. Its creators describe it as being ideal for real world application and has been practiced by its creators for the past 10 years as they adapted the system. Developed in Southern California and northern Nevada, Huan Shiying Kune Do was created out of a need for an adaptive martial art. Huan Shiying Kune Do incorporates a wide mix of blocking, striking, kicking, and take-downs. Unlike many traditional martial arts, students, are encouraged to develop their own "expression" of the art following Huan Shiying Kune Do's basic concepts. Huan Shiying Kune Do continues to adapt and evolve their training, adopting and taking in the techniques of many other martial arts, such as wing chun, tae kwon do, boxing, hwa rang do, muay thai, kung fu, and kyokushin. In Huan Shiying Kune Do, if a technique has worked consistently on the street or in sparring, it stays in the system, if it does not, then it is rejected. This allows the system to maintain its strong self defense focus. Huan Shiying Kune Do continues to adapt "Shiying", and evolve its main focus on realism and practicality. Training focuses on improving cardio and building, and understanding functional strength. Most Huan Shiying Kune Do curricula feature counter-attacks to punches, blocks, kicks, locks, and grabs, as well as using improvised weapons. Many traditional martial arts concentrate on kata. Huan Shiying Kune Do has 3 main Katas or forms, but concentrates on self-defense, awareness, and creative "on toes thinking".
