Rock Chikz

Rock Chikz is a Australian television comedy series, created by Vee Malnar. It is about a group of friends who try to become international rock stars but must first deal with family and other issues.

Rock Chikz premiered on Manhattan Neighbourhood Network from 16 June, 2007. The series also airs on other broadcast networks, including Channel 56, Channel 83 and the Community Channel. It is also shown on the official website with podcasts and on the internet.
Rock Chikz has garnered much critical acclaim since its debut becoming the first Australian made television series to be shown in New York City. In Australia, it has become a pop culture phenomenon, and is a success with audiences nationwide. Internationally, the series has spawned a cult fanbase. Due to the shows major acclaim in The United States of America, Rock Chikz is due to beshown on one of the major networks in Australia such as the Network Seven or Channel 10.

Premise

Rock Chikz tells of Ana (Linda Grasso), a cheerful 20-something. She formed the band in hope of becoming the world biggest phenomenon, “after the Spice Girls”. She decides to get her 3 best friends. Jade (Nicolette Kenny), a stuck up, spoilt, ever complaining friends who just got out of a relationship with a man who still loves her. Ana's estranged friend, Sam (Andrienne Bates), a kind but sometimes bizarre friends with “major weight problems” and her baby son. And her young but talented drummist, Sam (Ann Brita Nilsson), who has major fury issues and is disturbed since her grandmother was infected with cancer.
