Robert S. Nelson (DOB: 12/31/60—POB: Brooklyn, NY) owner and operator of apartment buildings in New York City and president of New York based Nelson Management Group, Ltd. Nelson is a founding member of Global One Investments, LLC. Robert Nelson is owner and operator of apartment buildings in New York City and president of New York based Nelson Management Group . Additionally, Nelson is a founding member of Global One Investments, LLC. In 2005, Nelson won praise for spearheading a Mitchell-Lama apartment building conversion at a 309 unit Upper West Side property by devising a complex deal the New York Times called "unique in the annals of the housing program". The New York Times said he had brought about a "singularly happy resolution to more than 25 years of feuding" between landlord and tenants. The state housing commissioner praised Mr. Nelson's buyout scenario as "a new model to preserve affordable housing". He serves on the Board of Directors of the Rent Stabilization Association (RSA) and the New York State Association for Affordable Housing (NYSAF AH) . He holds the designation Registered Apartment Manager (RAM) from the National Association of Home Builders. Nelson holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University. Nelson has earned extensive industry recognition and was voted "2005 Developer of the Year" by the Association of Builders and Owners of Greater New York City (ABO). As part of Global One Investments, Nelson has created a private equity fund of $100 million dollars names Global One ASB Fund, LLC. This fund seeks to add to it’s portfolio by investing in additional apartment buildings. Through the firm and its affiliates, Nelson oversees the operational and asset management functions of over $200 million worth of multifamily properties.
