Arleen Taveras is co-founder, President & CEO of Insurance Licensing Services of America, Inc. (ILSA). ILSA manages individual and corporate licensing with the Departments of Insurance in all 51 U.S. jurisdictions, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Taveras and ILSA partner with the American Bankers Insurance Association, an affiliate of the American Bankers Association, on insurance projects. Previously, as assistant vice president at one of the world’s largest insurance brokers, The Minet Group, Taveras centralized the licensing function for the organization in the U.S. and Canada. She traveled throughout North America to resolve regulatory issues, implement new licensing procedures and enhance corporate communications between brokers and regional licensing coordinators. In 1997, she left Aon Corporation, the world's second largest insurance broker, and established ILSA, Inc. Taveras has been a member of the National Association of Insurance Brokers' Licensing Task Force and is a member of the Society of Insurance Licensing Administrators (SILA). She is also a member of the Texas Surplus Lines Association Legislative Committee, the American Bankers Insurance Association (ABIA), Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT), and the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices (NAPSLO). She has been named Woman of the Year by the Groesbeck Chapter of the Business & Professional Women. ILSA has been named an Employer of Excellence by the Heart of Texas Workforce Commission and Groesbeck Business of the Year by the Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce. Taveras grew up in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School. She studied economics and computer sciences at Jersey City State College and received an associate’s degree in risk management from the College of Insurance in New York City in 1993. She holds the designation of Associate in Risk Management (ARM). She is a director of the Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Groesbeck Civic Center Committee.
