Robbie Blair

Robbie Blair is a performance poet, author, and blogger best known for his creative work and his essays on the writing craft.
Family Life
Robbie Blair was born in Provo, Utah in 1986 to Margaret Blair Young and Bruce Young. Both of his parents were English professors. At the age of 9, Robbie decided he wanted to become an author, partially due to the guidance of his parents.
In July 2013, Robbie changed his name in honor of his grandfather, the linguist Robert Wallace Blair. Prior to that time, his work was published under the name "Rob D Young."
Awards and Publications
Between 2010 and 2013, Robbie published 14 short creative pieces in literary journals (including the journals Enormous Rooms, Touchstones, Irreantum, Warp & Weave, and V Magazine). His submission of "Deliver," paired with the response piece from Robbie's long-time editor and collaborator Heather Holland Duncan, won 1st prize for the fiction/poetry category in the Spring 2012 edition of Warp & Weave. Robbie is also a regular competitor in the Salt City Slam in Salt Lake City, Utah.
In 2012 the short novel Broken Glass was published for Kindle and received a mixed critical response. Robbie also posts a story known as the White Silk Chronicles (in the vein of epic fantasy) on his blog as a weekly serial.
Blogging and Web Writing
From 2010 to 2012, Robbie wrote for major SEO and search-engine websites including Search Engine Watch and Search Engine Journal.
Since 2012, Robbie has worked as a travel blogger. His declared focus is "immersive travel narratives." He is a frequent backpacker and self-proclaimed adventurer who has spent time in more than 40 countries.
