Rickie Sehgal

An entrepreneur in Information Technology, Rickie Sehgal is the son of the late Dr KL Sehgal a manufacturing chemist who started his own business manufacturing toiletries and cosmetics. After graduation in Computing and Physics Bsc (Hon) Rickie Sehgal joined the family business Sehgal Cosmetics Ltd, initially manufacturing and then as director for Sales and Marketing.

Realizing that the computer industry was a potentially prosperous sector that could explode with enormous opportunities, he founded Transputec Computers in partnership with is brother, Sonny Sehgal.

With over 24 years of experience under his belt, Rickie remains as the Chief Executive of Transputec Computers plc, recognized globally and industry-wide as an innovative IT solutions enterprise, offering a diverse range of integrated business solutions and IT services.

Rickie has also created, grown and nurtured several market leading companies in their sector, firmly focused around cutting edge technology and ground breaking business models, such as Legal Technologies Limited, Global Reach, IT Dealer.com and his latest success Intelefile.

His keen sense of opportunity, vision and unflinching determination, combined with his pleasantly extrovert personality, makes him a charismatic person to work with. A fellow of the Institute of Directors and an appointed technology adviser to small businesses, local Government review boards, NGOs and volunteer organizations, Rickie attributes his success to his partnership-focused approach in business.

In 2005 Rickie was invited to become an executive chair of the Council of Ethnic Minority Voluntary Organisations (CEMVO) to co-ordinate its reconstruction and to re-energies its activities. The success of his participation, unique qualities and recognition by his peers resulted in Rickie being awarded the Non-Resident Indian Institute’s prestigious Pride of India Award, by the UK Minister for Immigration, Tony McNulty.

Hindu Forum of Britain

As a third generation Hindu, Rickie recognizes the inequalities Hindus face in employment, worship and equality of opportunity. He acknowledged that the Hindu community faced many problems including integration and engagement with the UK’s political systems. In 2004 he joined the Hindu Forum of Britain, after being inspired by the good work this dynamic organization was doing for the community.

Rickie is currently a long standing, passionate, senior executive of the Hindu Forum of Britain and helped the organisation become the voice of UK Hindus to government, media and commerce. Rickie has had the responsibility of defining the organisational structure, implementing elections and ensuring the HFB operates as a democratic organisation.

Rickie flourished when organising the 2005 and 2006 Diwali in London celebrations, in collaboration with the Mayor of London’s office. Now a landmark event in London’s festival calendar, Rickie played a crucial part in its success and the achievement of becoming the largest Diwali event celebrated and televised outside of India.

British Asian Conservative Link

An active member of the Asian community, Rickie Sehgal is currently the Secretary General of the British Asian Conservative Link which encourages and supports greater political involvement among British Asians.

Rickie’s commitment to such an organization was founded upon the realization that the community although very successful in respects, lacked political clout. Rickie Sehgal was quickly appointed to the Executive Committee of the British Asian Conservative Link (BACL) in Feb 2004 to campaign on political equality issues. Since his appointment Rickie has been an active participant and eager campaigner for increased Asian participation in public life. He actively supports young Asian Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate’s and serves on the committee at the Ealing Southall branch of the Conservative Party.
